Having Faith...

Praise God...the oven only cost $258 to fix! It could have been so much worse, right? God is so good!

We met with a hurting couple last night and saw God's presence working on there hearts, tearing down walls and restoring their marriage. It was amazing to see God in full glory! I am still in awe. It is amazing to be a part of God's plan!

Tonight and tomorrow is the Beth Moore Conference. I am so excited and my heart is ready to hear what the Lord has in store for me. My heart is ready to hear what He has to say...the things to work on, the things to embrace, deepening my level of grace and receiving His love. It is going to be a great weekend!

Operation Motherhood Bible Study

I am participating in a bible study at Church called Operation Motherhood. It is really neat, other Mom's who want to be equipped in teaching and building our children's faith. This semester we are talking about the Fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22-23. I don't know if I have shared but that is one of my favorite verses and I have taught my children the song and memorized the verse each at the age of 2. I love this passage of scripture and I believe it drives our heart, desires and actions when it comes to life. I guess I use it as a litmus test. I use the Fruit of the Spirit when disciplining and praising my kiddos; so they can see how the we acting acting unloving or how they showed joy or whatever fruit that may or may not have at the time.
Yesterday we talked about JOY and how JOY is not happiness. Happiness is based on our circumstances, true JOY can only come from the Lord and having a relationship with the Lord. It really hit me in this class that the amount of JOY in our life is directly related to our relationship with Jesus. We are called to have JOY in all circumstances- not just the good days! Now, I don't think that means we shouldn't deal with feelings of sorrow and sadness. I think it means that in all circumstances we found JOY while living here on earth.
James 1:2-8 and John 15:9-14 are some of my favorite verses on Joy.

The Shack

Have you read The Shack by W. M. Young? What did you think? I thought it was incredible! I am so grateful for this experience. If I say too much I will give it away, and the most awesome experience is to unveil the events of the book on your own. Therefore, I will not comment on the story. I will say that in some ways it is a spiritual awakening and this man's relationship with the Lord must be deep, very deep. To explain so brilliantly the Trinity and what God is truly asking of us was told so beautifully. The women in my life group are going to have a book club night to meet and talk about this book and I can't wait...it will be so rewarding. This book was simply....HEAVENLY! If you haven't picked it up; then please do. You will be blessed by it; no matter where you are in life- it will reach deep within your core and if you allow God to speak directly to your heart you will be transformed at the end...I know I was! Happy reading!

Moving on faith!

We moved our family from Seattle, WA area to the Albuquerque, NM area and love it! I was a little concerned leaving our family, friends and church home and yes we are still adjusting to our new life here in NM. However, you can't pass on the call from God. It seems everyday the Lord reveals a piece of His plan as to why Albuquerque? L has been wanting/praying to move back to Texas and his job search for the last seven years was focused there. I have been quiet all these years because I am the one who suggested we move to Seattle. I wanted this next move to be L's decision. In late Feb/early March the girls and I visited some of our best friends Sarah and Philip. I mentioned to L that this was a nice place and they had chosen well. It was amazing to see God at work the next days, weeks and months. L found a job on-line,applied, had a interview and an offer in a three week turn around. All of the sudden we were moving. As the next months went by we asked the Lord, "What is in Albuquerque beside the obvious our friends?" and He said, "You'll See...more than you can imagine!" As the Lord prepared us for this move I was studying the book of Luke he kept revealing the theme of leave everything and follow me (Luke 5:11, 5:27, 9:23, 9:57, 18:22 are just a few.) Verse 9:23 "If Anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. We did it, moved on faith. Scary because we left our life our, house didn't sell so we rented it, L's contract wasn't finalized, S was ill and many more things. BY FAITH, FOR FAITH!
